What is Face Yoga Training?

Face Yoga Training is an innovative, natural way of looking young and beautiful. Danielle Collins, the UK's leading Face Yoga expert, has created a new Face Yoga programme on CD to be done 15 minutes daily, 6 days week. The programme uses the most effective techniques and latest research to give safe, natural anti-ageing results. It combines the best of Face Yoga, massage, acupressure and face exercise.

Just as your body needs regular exercise to maintain its youthful look and to be healthy, the face muscles also need exercise to prevent them from sagging or becoming weak.

Yoga has been used as a form of exercise and meditative relaxation by people over the centuries to keep their whole bodies looking and feeling healthy. However, the elements of Yoga that relate to the facial muscles and skin tone have been overlooked by many in this modern age. Face Yoga Training helps you relax the tension in your face and tone up the muscles. The end result means a relaxed, healthy, toned and youthful face.

What happens to my face through the ageing process and through stress and tension?

Your face has 57 muscles that have specific purposes. Similar to the  muscles in your body, these muscles can become tensed when you have stressful times in your life. This, even for those in their teens and twenties, can give the skin a dull, lackluster appearance, cause bags under the eyes and bring the skin to prematurely lose tonicity which can result in lines and wrinkles.

As we move into our thirties, forties, fifties and beyond there are certain effects of skin ageing. The skin can lose tone. It can droop, sag, and collagen and elastin can start to go which loses plumpness and firmness. Wrinkles can be formed through the skin losing elasticity. Stress and tension can cause facial clenching and grimacing meaning deep set lines and wrinkles.

If the skin has poor circulation then toxins and dead skin can accumulate which can give the skin a dull, greyish appearance. This can then show up as age spots and discolorations on skin. Also, as the skin ages it can become dryer. Any excess toxins can dry out skin and deplete the skin cells of oxygen and can build up so the face bloats and becomes puffy.

The only way to maintain the tonicity of your facial muscles to reduce lines and wrinkles and to encourage good circulation for toxin removal is to exercise, massage and relax them daily. Strength training of the facial tissue can slow this process, thereby delaying the aging process. Through doing this you can also enjoy mental peace and wellbeing. Beauty also comes from a calm mind and feeling positive and happy so keep this in mind as well.

How long will it be before I see results from the Face Yoga Training Programme?

You will see and feel some difference straight away. Your muscles may feel they have had a good workout (just like with body exercise), you will see and feel less tension in the face and you will have a rosy glow.

You will then start to see more of a long term improvement in your face and neck after 2 weeks. After 2-4 months, you will notice you have less fine lines and less tension and people will notice you look healthier and more energised. Within six to nine months people have reported that they look and feel 5-10 years younger and feel more relaxed within themselves.

Remember that taking 15 minutes for yourself to do this everyday will also do wonders for you overall wellbeing and stress levels. This time to relax, do something for you, and knowing you will look and feel better as a result may mean you also notice yourself feeling calmer and happier.

How often should I do the Face Yoga Training Programme?

It is recommend you do the 15 minute programme once a day, 6 days a week. This ensures the face is being worked everyday with one day for the face to rest and reap the benefits. After 3 months you can reduce this to 5 days a week as your muscles will be stronger and healthier then and require a bit less work. However, if you can keep going 6 days a week this will mean you have better results from your Face Yoga Training in no time.

Can I do the programme more than once a day?

Just once a day for 6 days a week is recommended. Just like the body it is not recommended to over exercise the face. It would cause no real harm if you did but to give a balanced, healthy complexion and to bring quick results, stick to the recommended amount.

Does it matter what time of day I do the Face Yoga Training Programme?

It really doesn’t matter when you do the exercises. Just do it when is best for you. It is always better to the exercises at the same time and same place everyday as this gives you a  routine and ensures you stick to the programme. Remember you can do them sitting up or lying down and it is best to be calm and relaxed in a quiet place. Some people set their alarm 15 minutes early in the morning to do the exercises, other people do it just before bed, whilst in the bath or even in the car park just before going into work. Choose a safe time or place which suits you and don’t use whilst driving or operating machinery.

Who should use Face Yoga Training?

Face Yoga Training is for everyone. Men and Women, young and old.

Face Yoga Training is very useful if you want to reduce signs of ageing. Whether you are in your twenties and are starting to see the first signs of ageing or if you have deep set lines and wrinkles, the exercises and techniques will be beneficial for you. It is never too late to start to look after your face.

I have had cosmetic/plastic surgery, can I still use Face Yoga Training?

Yes. The Face Yoga Training Programme will still give your face a fresh glow, reduce damaging build up of tension and reduce the need for further cosmetic surgery. The exercises are all safe for those who have had cosmetic surgery but please check with your doctor before you start the exercises.

The Face Yoga Training Programme will give you a fresh, young, relaxed and beautiful appearance which looks more natural than surgery and is safer than having further operations.

Will the exercises in the Face Yoga Training programme give me wrinkles?

No.  When you go to a gym or to an exercise class and work the muscles in the body you firm up the body and improve skin texture and tone.  The same principle applies for the face and neck. The exercises which work on muscle resistance enlarge the muscle, creating lift and a promoting a firmer, more youthful-looking face. So by exercising the face you are actually building muscle fibre.

Will touching and massaging my face cause wrinkles?

No. When you go for body massage you don’t worry that it will cause sagging, lines or wrinkles. You feel your skin will have better circulation, look smoother and firmer, toxins will be removed and tension reduced, The same is true for massaging and touching the face. Face Yoga Training gives you all the benefits of a body massage but for your face.

How does the Face Yoga Training Programme affect my skin?

All the exercises in The Face Yoga Training programme increase blood circulation to the face, allowing more oxygen and more nourishment to reach the cells of the skin.  The result is a clear, healthy complexion with a beautiful glow which has less toxins and has a better ability to absorb moisture. The massage techniques in the Face Yoga Training Programme are designed to stimulate collagen production giving you a smoother, more supple, tighter-looking skin.

Does it matter if I don’t do the exercises for a while?

It is best to do the exercises once a day, 6 days a week as recommended but if you go a while without doing it don’t worry. You may notice the difference in your face when you don’t do them but remember that the face muscles have a muscle memory so when you start again you can just start where you left off. If you miss a day or two just carry on from where you left off rather than trying to do it a few times in a day to make it up.
